Analysis And Explanation Of 2 Film Opening Credits
The opening credits of the conjuring:
We can straight away tell the conjuring is a horror with the non diegetic tense music which we would expect in a horror film. The non diegetic music is slow but intense which further emphasises the suspense of what is to come.
Also the images of the title sequence of the isolated house further strengthen the horror thriller as it looks like a photograph suggesting it is in the past also it is far away stating it is far away from civilisation and once out there there's no way back. The images also set the scene on where the film will be based.
We learn that the characters are being tormented by the doll or 'the conjuring'.
This title sequence is discrete due to there being a mini film that builds up the tension before the film starts and it gives off very little about the film.
The opening credits of the Casino Royale:
We firstly able to understand that Casino Royale is an action thriller with the non diegetic action packed music linked with the diegetic synchronous gun shot demonstrates this is an on-edge watching film. The Credits is an example of a discrete title sequence where they give off very little about the movie itself. Bond is known for being the hero in all the sequences and with him wearing the suit and playing cards it emphasises that money, drugs, death and casinos will be a main component of the film.
As the Title credits start there is instantly a splash of blood showing crime is also a big part in this film. Furthermore, there are mini fights in the credits insinuating the fact of violence in this film.
Additionally, the man singing in the background is non diegetic music and picks up the tempo and pace as the credits role on. The song is called 'You Know My Name' this creates the reality of the fact that everyone knows who James Bond is and are expecting what will happen in the film where Bond Kills the Other.
