Progression From Initial Idea

Our Idea

Max, Oscar, Rachel and i, have thought of a great idea which demonstrates the peaks of both thrillers and horrors. The short movie sequence is about a young vulnerable blonde girl who has been kidknapped and tortured in a dark mysterious basement, which is where our dangerous encounter takes place. The basement gives a very mysterious and scary view of how brutal and harsh a kidnapping could be. We are going to insert scary and quiet nursery noises which will link in with the poor intimmidating girl screaming throughout our worst nightmare. Throughout the sequence you are not going to see the villains face as it creates a more tense and thrilling clip, and demonstrates how he could strike again. The basement door has a metal lock on it, which is a key idea in our movie as it will create suspense throughout the film to illustrate how isolated the young girl is in and that the villain could do anything he liked to her. The vulnerable girl is being played by a young vulnerable blonde girl which is used in several films previousally including scream which i have studied previousally. The basement is going to be an exceedingly dark place, which reinforces how afraid and lonely the young girl is in. The young girl is going to be strapped and tied up to a chair, with duck tape over her mouth this idea has been constructed from the Swedish tv drama Arne Dahl, where a young girl has been kidnapped and is tied up and trapped. Furthermore we are going to use extreme close ups to represent the look of fear on the girls face. There is also going to be blood and scars on her exhausted face to illustrate how she has been brutally hurt and is distraught. The name of the movie is called " The Crypt ", which is simply and underground dungeon which is known for being a dark and dangerous place.

Teachers Feedback
The teacher however approved greatly on the basement idea, which we are using as the main location throughout the movie. Our teacher really enjoyed our presentation towards our movie and thought it was a clever idea, and if we followed the basic steps and worked efficiently it has the potential in being a great opening sequence.

From this feedback we were able to thrive on the positives and really enhance our film ideas to what we want the finishing idea to be. The fact that the basement idea was approved also meant that we had our location set out and were ready to dwell on new ideas suggested by the group.
