Progression of the digipak 2.0
The image above shows another possible front cover of the digipak. This has been hugely developed since our initial album cover idea. We chose to get rid of the Pink filter and chose to have our artists in a more subtle colour being red, blue an white so that it contrasts against the black background, thence making her stand out signifying her importance and selling her star image. The font we used in this design was a classic, Dark green style in capital lettering being simple yet effective. It fits in out with the the greyscale of the background. We also linked the artists names and the album title together, allowing it to be more personal and give the impression her music relates to some sort of story. It also sounds catchy and flows well, as well as still selling her as an artist. Plentiful artists album covers use one dominate colour that differs between the artist and the album and rarely use only black and white. We also used this style of convention in this album cover design, with the contrast between her and the background.
This is another idea for our album cover, making it overall more harmonious, keeping the actual main colour of the picture. The camera shot of Lucy relates to Lykke Li whose album cover is of a close up. This creates a sense of confidence and makes her stand out. Personally, I think the yellow fill in looks tacky and other precious digipaks were better than this the audience also agreed with this. Different front was used to the previous image which has been used as its effective and looks appealing along with the rest of the cover. The white stands out against the background. The name of our artist has been printed across the front but there is no album cover name this time.. This makes an interesting design.
